It’s like a national drink of Egypt . It is a herbal tea with a tart flavour similar to that of cranberries. It is and made with steeping dried hibiscus flowers in boiling water. This can be consumed both hot and cold. In Egypt, wedding celebrations are traditionally toasted with a glass of hibiscus tea

It had great health benefits. It is packed with antioxidants, consumption of this can help in lowering blood pressure, can help lower blood fat levels, which are another risk factor for heart disease.

Instructions

1. Mix water and hibiscus flowers and bring them to a boil.

2. Cover and leave it to cool. this will ensure we get the maximum flavour from flower in water and also get a nice dark red colour

3. Strain and add sugar. this can be served hot and cold both.

Optional

1. You can add few drops of lemon juice to increase the tartness.

2. We can add rose water or mint as per our preference. both gives an interesting twist to this drink. i avoid adding both as personally i don't like rose and mint combination.
