1. Dry roast 2 cups of makhana in a pan. keeping the flame on low, keep stirring in between till they are roasted very well.

2. In the same pan add 1 teaspoon ghee and let it become hot.

3. Then add 3/4 cup of grated jaggery and let it melt.

4. Keep the flame on low and continuously stir the jaggery. you will notice that there will be bubbles in the jaggery while cooking them.

5. To check if the jaggery is ready to be made into a chikki form take a small bowl with little water and add a drop of jaggery into it. if it becomes hard and forms the shape of a ball, it means it’s ready to be made in form of chikki.

6. Next add the roasted makhana in the melted jaggery and switch off the flame.

7. You may even add dry fruits if you desire. in a pan, grease some oil and add the makhana and jaggery. flatten it using your fingers and let it cool.

8. Once cooled down, cut it into pieces and its ready to be served.
