A famous dry recipe from the Kerela cuisine, Cabbage thoran is prepared by stir frying finely chopped cabbage (some other veggies to complement) with cocunut, ginger-garlic and some aromatic South Indian spices. This recipe makes for a great side dish for both roti and rice.

Recipe by:



1. In a large bowl, add the cabbage, coconut, green chilli, turmeric powder and salt. mix well using your hands. allow it to rest for 30 minutes.

2. In a pan, heat the coconut oil. add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add the urad dal. add the dry red chillies and curry leaves.

3. Add the cabbage mixture to the pan. stir well and cover with a lid. cook for 3 minutes on medium heat.
