Matar Paneer is a wholesome and flavorful dry fusion of cottage cheese and peas with the aromatic Indian spices. Any celebration in the North is incomplete without this curry in the menu. It is a must try for everyone.

Instructions

1. Heat oil in a pan. add cumin, cinnamon and green chilli. quickly stir.

2. Add onions and fry for 2 minutes.

3. Add ginger-garlic, salt and turmeric.

4. Fry for 3-4 minutes until raw flavour of ginger-garlic goes away and onions start changing color, start becoming golden brown.

5. Add tomatoes. cook until mushy and tender. add green peas. cook for 2-3 more minutes.

6. Add paneer. mix well with masala and saute for 2 minutes.

7. Add garam masala, kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves) and cilantro leaves. serve hot with roti / chapati.

Notes

1. Deseed the green chillies if you want flavor only, skip it all together if you don't like hot spicy food.
