Sour taste is the most prominent aspect of this dish as it is made with curd or buttermilk. Veggies like yam and plantain,ground coocnut and mild spiced are also added for the perfect texture and flavor. Primarily served in the Onam Sadya meal, this dish is a must try.

1. Mix everything given under the mushroom batter.

2. Add water little at a tiime and mix to a thick sticky batter.

3. Heat oil and deep fry the mushrooms until golden. keep aside until use.

4. Heat oil in a kadai and add chopped onions and ginger garlic paste.

5. Saute for a minute and add chilli powder, turmeric powder, dry mango powder, chaat masala and garam masala.

6. Add water and let it come to a rolling boil.

7. Next, add fried mushrooms and adjust salt.

8. Keep cooking on high heat until the moisture is absorbed and it becomes semi thick.

9. Serve it hot topped with grated carrots, chopped onions and coriander leaves.
