For frying yam
1. Heat mustard oil in a kadai, add yam cubes and fry on medium flame.
2. Remove in an absorbent paper and keep it aside for further use.
3. Remove the excess oil.
For the tempering
4. In the same kadai, heat mustard oil, add black pepper corns, green cardamom, cloves, cumin seeds and let them splutter.
5. Add ginger, green chilli and saute it.
6. Add turmeric powder, degi red chilli powder, coriander powder, asafoetida and curd mix it well.
7. Add fried yam, salt to taste, water and mix everything well. cover it with the lid and cook for 5-10 minutes.
8. Add green peas, coriander leaves and lemon juice and mix it well. garnish it with coriander sprig.
