Puffed rice upma, also called murmura uggani, is a popular breask fast recipe from the Southern part of India. Easy to make and yummy to taste, it is a quick snack made with soaked puffed rice, onions, curry leaves and authentic South Indian spices.

Instructions

1. Heat a oil in a pan, add urad dal / black gram skinned & mustard seeds. once the mustard seeds start spluttering add onions, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves & sauté it for a few minutes.

2. Once the onions turn transparent, add the carrots, peas, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, roasted peanuts and mix it well.

3. After 2 minutes add the puffed rice and gently mix it.

4. Pour a cup of water to the mix and let it cook for 2 minutes.

5. Then add coriander leaves and half lime juice to finish your simple & delicious puffed rice upma.
