Sondesh/Sandesh (a bengal originated dessert) is a milk dessert made purely out of milk. People also use milk powder to make the same but what is better than the purest form. This dish has two different jams that quiet healthy and tasty to eat. You can also call this as Sandwich Sondesh.

Instructions

For cranberry / prunes jam

1. Add all the ingredients of cranberry / prunes jam (separately for 2 jams) namely 200 gms cranberries or prunes, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar in a pan and turn the gas on.

2. Keep stirring on low flame and cover it with a lid for 2-3 minutes.

3. Open the lid to check if the berries/ prunes starts to pop. by now it will turn into a mashy or chunky paste form.

4. Turn off the flame and blend it using a blender so that all chunks get dissolved and let it cool.

5. Store it in glass jars and enjoy.

For sandesh ( white hearts)

1. Boil 1 litre milk, add 1 tsp calcium lactate or vinegar or lemon juice to curdle it.

2. Strain it in a muslin cloth and let all the water drain out. you can also hang it in the cloth so that excess water drips out.

3. Take it out in a plate and add 3-4 tbsp sugar or add according to your taste.

4. Mash it with the help of your palm by rubbing it against the plate until you get a little coarse and mashy texture.

5. Spread it a plate in a cake form and refrigerate it for 30 minutes.

6. Cut it into desired shapes.
