A dry rice recipe that is a protein rich and enhanced with mild masalas. It is best paired with a wet curry that is rich in gravy.

Instructions

1. Wash 1 tbsp rice and 1 tbsp whole green gram / moong dal together and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

2. Heat a pressure cooker with 1 tsp ghee. add 1/4 tsp cumin seeds and 1 garlic clove. let it crackle.

3. Then drain the water from soaked rice and dal and add to the cooker. mix well.

4. Add 1/8 tsp turmeric powder and salt to taste (for babies above one year) at this stage. now add 1 cup of water.

5. Close the lid of pressure cooker. cook everything in a medium flame for five to seven whistles.

6. Open the cooker once the pressure released. mash the rice well with your hands or with a masher. feed your baby warm. you can also puree them in a blender.

Notes

Salt is not recommended for babies under one year of age.
