1. In a bowl, take 1/2 cup gram flour / besan, 1/2 cup sooji / semolina, 2 medium sized grated raw potatoes. mix well.
2. Add salt to taste, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda or eno fruit salt, juice of 1 lemon. add 1/4 cup water. mix it very well and let it rest for 10 minutes.
3. After 10 minutes, give it a stir. add 1/2 tsp chilli powder / flakes, chopped green chillies as per taste, some chopped coriander leaves, chopped curry leaves (optional), chopped tomatoes and chopped onions.
4. Grease a baking tray with oil. place a butter / parchment paper (if you dont have butter paper then just brush oil). transfer the batter in the greased tray. spread it evenly.
5. Boil water and place a stand in a kadai. then keep the baking tray and steam for 10-15 minutes. let it cool.
6. Once cool, scrape the sides using a knife. pull it out on a plate. remove the butter paper.
7. Cut it out in triangles.
8. Heat some oil in a pan and shallow fry these traingles few at a time. fry them from all the sides.
