1. Add the soaked toor dal / split pigeon peas and rice in a pressure cooker together with salt, turmeric powder and water.
2. When cooked 70 %, then add diced carrots, potato, capsicum, tomato, green peas and beans. cook them until soft.
3. For tempering, in ghee add mustard seeds, curry leaves, peanuts, whole red chilli ,sliced onions, bisi bele bath masala and mix it in the khichdi.
4. Also add jaggery and tamarind pulp. cook for few minutes. serve hot with a garnish of khara boondi and ghee.
