1. Heat oil in a pan. add 3 medium size sliced onions and fry until golden brown. when cool, crush lightly with hand.
2. Marinate 750 gms chicken with 200 ml curd, fried onions, 2 tsp ginger garlic paste, salt as per taste. mix well and set it aside for 1 hour.
3. In a seperate pan, dry roast 4 tsp corainder seeds, 2 tsp cumin seeds, 8 dry chillies. grind these along with 1 small onion and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder in a mixer grinder. add little water to make a paste.
4. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a fresh pan and add the ground paste. fry for 10 minutes on medium heat.
5. Add marintaed chicken and fry for 5 minutes on high heat. then, cook for 10 minutes on medium heat. add 1 tsp kashmiri chilli powder and cook again for 15 minutes on medium heat.
6. Lastly, add 1/2 tsp garam masla powder and 1 cup water. cover and cook for 15 minutes.
Serve hot with rice or roti.
